Distance learning would have been seen as something out of a fantasy novel 50 years ago. Going to school, interacting with teachers, and chatting with fellow students—all at your house with no physical interaction—is truly unbelievable, and it only took a few decades to get there. What does it mean to be able to do this, and how is symbiosis distance learning becoming the primary way of educating the public? Let’s take a closer look at the new face of education and what it could mean for the future.

Symbiosis Distance Learning and the New Face of School

One of the major reasons why distance learning is becoming so popular is because the college infrastructure cannot handle a large influx of students, leading to the online college trend. It is also important to note that a student can go to school conveniently and around their own schedule through online classes, leading to its high appeal. Many distance learners are also nontraditional students and generally have higher grades than younger, more traditional college students.

At this time in history, it is pretty tough to be in the educational field. It is a transitional time, with private and public universities merging, less in the budget for tenured faculty, and traditional colleges trying to adapt to new technologies. Education is becoming more self-directed and non-linear, and technological competency is so key to future success that it is becoming a graduation requirement. Also, it cannot be stressed enough that the current state of the economy has a great deal to do with symbiosis distance learning’s growth. The price for a traditional education is astronomical, while taking online classes is much more affordable.

It is an interesting time for higher education, and it seems that based on current trends that symbiosis distance learning will become more and more popular in the times to come.
